The Chassis Controls team at Tesla is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to design and develop world-class safety-critical Chassis Controls features. This high-visibility role involves working on safety-critical functions like braking, steering, traction control, stability control, and anti-lock braking to ensure safe vehicle operation. The ideal candidate will determine system design paradigms, controller networking, and monitoring concepts while collaborating with a team of functional safety engineers to develop frameworks, tools, and processes that exceed industry standards.

Candidates should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience, along with expertise in designing safety-critical systems and familiarity with automotive safety standards like ISO 26262. Proficiency in vehicle dynamics, braking, embedded systems, software development, and experience with CAN and Vector CAN tools are highly valued. Knowledge of Controls and programming skills in C or Python are preferred.
