Tesla is offering an exciting internship opportunity for Architecture and Structural Engineer roles in their Infrastructure team for Winter/Spring 2025. This internship is expected to start around January or February 2025 and continue through the entire Spring term (through May 2025) or into Spring/Summer 2025, if available. The program requires a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site commitment.
The internship is part of Tesla's year-round program that places top students in positions where they can grow both technically and personally. Interns work closely with their manager, mentor, and team on critical projects.
For Architecture interns, responsibilities include:
- Supporting the design development process from test fit to concept design
- Managing surveys and due diligence with external consultants
- Coordinating technical and business needs from stakeholders
- Creating concept drawings based on site-specific conditions
- Supporting prototype updates and block development
- Reviewing construction documents and shop drawings
For Structural Engineer interns, responsibilities include:
- Supporting design and construction of new and renovated industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities
- Working with multidiscipline project teams
- Conducting structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures
- Creating justifying structural calculations
- Completing field work independently or with the design team
- Preparing design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules in Revit
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
- For Architecture interns: Working knowledge of US building codes and proficiency in Revit & AutoCAD
- For Structural interns: Fundamentals of Engineer (FE) Test taken/passed, experience with Revit Structural, RISA 3D, RAM or ETABs, and primary structural coursework completed
