Tesla is seeking highly-motivated interns for their Controls Engineering team to contribute to the design and development of new automation equipment and assembly lines for advanced production facilities. This internship, starting around January or February 2025 and continuing through Spring 2025 or into Spring/Summer 2025, offers a minimum of 12 weeks full-time, on-site experience. Interns will work under the guidance of Controls Engineers to develop, design, and program control systems for new equipment being deployed to the production floor. They will learn and apply Tesla's innovative controls program architecture to components such as logic controllers, machine interfaces, servo drives, and industrial robots used in production processes. The role involves tasks such as laying out industrial electrical control panels, developing PLC code, interfacing with various systems, implementing safety systems, generating HMI screens, and commissioning vision cameras. This opportunity allows interns to be part of the team "building the machine that makes the machine" in a fast-paced, demanding environment, working on critical subsystems of exciting products. Potential departments include Automation Development, Vehicle Manufacturing, Paint Manufacturing, or Powertrain Manufacturing. The internship provides comprehensive benefits and a chance to contribute to Tesla's innovative manufacturing processes.
