Tesla is seeking a Data Engineer Intern for their Fleet Analytics team for Winter/Spring 2025. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work with petabytes of data collected from Tesla's vehicles, Superchargers, and energy storage devices. As an intern, you'll be part of a central team that helps leverage this data to improve autopilot, optimize hardware designs, proactively detect faults, and optimize load on the electrical grid.
You'll work on refining problem statements, conducting data analysis, and building data pipelines using cutting-edge open-source technologies like AWS, S3, Spark, and Trino. The role involves writing reproducible data analyses, building production dashboards, and designing metrics and tools that enable engineers to self-serve their data insights.
This position requires strong proficiency in Python and SQL, understanding of electrical systems, and a solid foundation in statistics. Experience with data science tools like Pandas, Numpy, R, or Matlab is a plus. The internship is full-time (40 hours/week) for a minimum of 12 weeks, starting in January and continuing through April/May.
