Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Vehicle Body Structures
- Design and develop structural components, system requirements and specifications for structural, NVH and crash performance
- Create vehicle-aligned component and system targets for function, cost, weight and investment
- Optimize concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments
- Interface with Tesla and Supplier manufacturing
- Research reliability failure physics and develop accelerated test methods
- Take ownership of reliability structural requirements and develop test plans
Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Vehicle Body Structures
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 1 full development life cycle experience
- Proficiency in computer aided design software (CATIA)
- Proven knowledge of engineering fundamentals
- Ability to thrive with ambiguity in design direction
- Ability to have fun in resolving engineering problems
