Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Vehicle Body Structures

  • Design and develop structural components, system requirements and specifications for structural, NVH and crash performance
  • Create vehicle-aligned component and system targets for function, cost, weight and investment
  • Optimize concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments
  • Interface with Tesla and Supplier manufacturing
  • Research reliability failure physics and develop accelerated test methods
  • Take ownership of reliability structural requirements and develop test plans

Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Vehicle Body Structures

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1 full development life cycle experience
  • Proficiency in computer aided design software (CATIA)
  • Proven knowledge of engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to thrive with ambiguity in design direction
  • Ability to have fun in resolving engineering problems
