Tesla is seeking a Software Validation Engineer to join their Vehicle Software organization's Systems Validation Team, focusing on powertrain thermal, heat pump, and HVAC controls. This role combines software engineering with thermal systems expertise, requiring deep understanding of both domains.

Responsibilities For Software Validation Engineer, Thermal Systems

  • Work with hardware and software teams to maintain expert understanding of thermal systems
  • Develop and execute comprehensive system and sub-system level test specifications
  • Invent methods and build tools to execute tests and evaluate results
  • Develop prototype test setups using software driven test automation
  • Investigate field issues through data analysis and issue reproduction
  • Debug issues and propose robust solutions
  • Improve safety, performance, and customer satisfaction

Requirements For Software Validation Engineer, Thermal Systems

Python
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering
  • Hands-on experience debugging complex systems with networked microprocessors
  • Strong fundamentals in heat-transfer and thermodynamics
  • Experience with CAN and Vector tools
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages
  • Experience with C and/or C++ for embedded systems
  • Minimum 2 years experience
