This role focuses on securing Tesla's critical infrastructure, including AI platforms, on-premises datacenter infrastructure, and public cloud footprint. As a Senior Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for analyzing and improving the security posture of Tesla's AI platform, on-premises servers, Kubernetes clusters, and public cloud infrastructure. You'll work closely with Platform Engineering and Infrastructure SRE teams to develop tools and insights that help track and remediate security issues. The role involves active participation in security reviews, risk analysis, and security solution design.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in security engineering, particularly in Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, or Java is essential, along with experience in CI/CD pipelines and GitOps principles. You'll be working with state-of-the-art security tools and contributing to Tesla's mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy.

Responsibilities For Sr. Security Engineer, Platform Security
- Identify threats and implement security controls for AI platforms and managed Kubernetes
- Implement strategies to prevent, detect and respond to threats
- Identify, assess, prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities
- Work with stakeholders to remediate security issues
- Build and operate DevSecOps tools
- Collaborate with Security Operations teams on detection signals and incident response
- Develop and maintain documentation for security tools
- Perform security reviews and risk assessments
Requirements For Sr. Security Engineer, Platform Security
- Degree in Computer Science, Information security, or equivalent experience
- Experience in security team supporting Kubernetes infrastructure
- Good understanding of Linux security, defense in depth, security standards
- Practical experience in developing software solutions
- Proficient in Python, Go or Java
- Proficient in CI/CD pipelines with deep understanding of GitOps principles
- Good understanding of image vulnerability scanning tools and artifact management
