Tesla is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join their High Voltage Distribution team, focusing on electric vehicle components and powertrain technologies. This role combines electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering expertise to develop and implement comprehensive test programs for critical EV components like chargeports, HV harness, and HV connectors.

Responsibilities For Sr. Test Engineer, High Voltage Distribution, Semi
- Develop and implement test programs for electric vehicle powertrain technologies
- Work directly with design engineers to create design validation test plans
- Design and fabrication of test equipment for mechanical, thermal, and electrical systems
- Perform component, system, and vehicle validation under dynamic and environmental conditions
- Work with design engineers to validate and refine models
- Analyze test data and write test reports
- Investigate root cause of failures and help to drive product improvement
Requirements For Sr. Test Engineer, High Voltage Distribution, Semi
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in physical testing and analysis of mechanical, thermal, or electrical systems
- Automotive component/system testing experience, including certification testing
- Experience with Python, Matlab, or other data acquisition and analysis software
- Design of test setups for mechanical and thermal performance testing
- Experience creating and executing design validation plans and test methods
- Experience creating analytical and numerical models of mechanical, thermal, or electrical systems
- Working knowledge of heat transfer and thermal management
