Responsibilities For Sr. Test Engineer, Thermal Event, Semi

  • Create detailed test plans based on communication with design teams and program managers
  • Own test planning activities as per program schedule
  • Coordinate with technicians in battery pack build, instrumentation, test teams
  • Conduct tests safely and in a manner faithful to the design intent/failure mode
  • Analyze thermal and electrical data, video footage and present test results
  • Identify and execute ideas to increase efficiency and quality of battery thermal testing
  • Develop coupon studies to allow rapid testing of specific subsystems
  • Collaborate with modeling team to align on results
  • Interpret regulations and tailor tests setup and results accordingly

Requirements For Sr. Test Engineer, Thermal Event, Semi

Python
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Focus areas include heat transfer, combustion, or materials
  • 2-10 years of experience in design validation/compliance/battery testing
  • Must be hands-on (physical assembly, electrical wiring / troubleshooting)
  • Experience with data analysis tools- Matlab or Python preferred
  • Experience with CAD (CATIA a bonus)
  • Willing to travel (up to 20%) to test sites
