Tesla's Sensing Hardware Team is seeking a Staff Sensor Hardware Engineer to join their innovative Tesla Bot project. As a Staff Sensor Hardware Engineer, you'll be responsible for the complete lifecycle of sensing systems, from initial architecture and design through to production deployment. Responsibilities For Staff Sensor Hardware Engineer, Tesla Bot
- Drive sensing subsystems design and execution through specification generation
- Lead cross-functional sensor design discussions
- Translate sensor design discussions into design documents
- Create schematic designs using EDA tools
- Supervise PCB layout and board design
- Work with supply chain team on BOM definition
- Support early sensor prototype development
- Generate and execute test plans
- Ensure hardware meets qualification requirements
- Work with Manufacturing/Test teams for high-volume production
Requirements For Staff Sensor Hardware Engineer, Tesla Bot
- Fundamental knowledge of circuit design, analog analysis, sensor physics, and statistics
- Strong electrical engineering background in board-level analog and mixed-signal design
- Hands-on experience in system-level design, architecture, characterization and validation
- Proven cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, SPICE, or similar simulation tools
- Proficiency in data visualization and statistical analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in high-volume mass production
- Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related fields with 8+ years of industry experience
