The Farmer's Dog is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Software Engineer 2 for their Platform team. This role bridges IT Operations and Software Engineering, focusing on building and maintaining software infrastructure, tools, and services. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, either as a senior software engineer with web operations experience or a senior web operations engineer with software engineering background. Key responsibilities include contributing code to infrastructure and services, reviewing code, responding to platform issues, supporting product engineers, and participating in on-call rotations. The role requires expertise in AWS, Terraform, Docker, and programming languages (preferably JavaScript). Responsibilities For Senior DevOps Software Engineer 2 - Platform
- Contribute code to infrastructure, tools, and services
- Review code for other team members
- Respond to platform bugs and incidents
- Support product engineers in using 'the platform'
- Support product engineers serving on-call for their services
- Participate in platform engineering on-call rotation
- Bring a systems view and highlight interactions between software components and people
- Advocate operational and delivery practices that benefit the organization
Requirements For Senior DevOps Software Engineer 2 - Platform
- 5+ years of total experience
- Strong background in AWS, Terraform, and Docker
- Well-versed in a programming language, ability to learn JavaScript if needed
- Experience with relational databases, ability to learn postgres if needed
- Ability to drive adoption of DevOps and/or SRE principles and practices
