Description For Associate SCADA Engineer

The Associate SCADA Engineer will work independently, with the SCADA Engineering team, and the project managers, and is responsible for integrating real-time Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) and computer systems at electric power generation plants, including utility-scale solar power, wind power, and battery storage. Typical devices include RTUs, PLCs, SCADA systems, Plant Control Systems, electric power meters, and meteorological (MET) data loggers.

You will report to our SCADA Engineering Manager and work with our growing team of 10 engineers and support staff, as well as collaborate across the organization with our technology, engineering, and business development teams.

This role can be successfully performed in Office-Based, Home-Based (US only), or Flex-Based work locations. You will work in a controlled office environment or from your Home-Based worksite, as well as virtually with your team members. Occasional travel to our corporate headquarters in Folsom, CA may be required for collaboration, training, and team building.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside our subject matter experts to further develop your knowledge of software development and energy resource management.

Key Contributions:

  • Design and develop SCADA system components under supervision
  • Understand CAISO requirements for Remote Intelligence Gateways (RIG) units
  • Configure, implement, and commission RIG units
  • Execute basic coding and configuration tasks
  • Perform routine maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Support troubleshooting and issue resolution
  • Perform basic network and system configurations
  • Develop and execute test plans
  • Assist in system testing and deployments
  • Document technical specifications and procedures

The base pay range for this position is $85,000-$89,100/year, with starting salary typically in the low to mid-range for the job level. This is an overtime Exempt position. Compensation is based on market rate, job level, job related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and certifications. This is a Full Time opportunity.
