Description For Linux OS Engineer

Truist, a major financial services company formed by the merger of BB&T and SunTrust, is seeking a Linux OS Engineer to join their Engineering team. This senior-level position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge infrastructure and systems in a large-scale financial environment.

The role combines traditional Linux system engineering with modern DevOps practices, requiring expertise in RHEL, virtualization technologies, and automation tools. You'll be responsible for building servers, managing system images, handling security patches, and leading technical initiatives that directly impact the bank's infrastructure reliability and security.

As a Linux OS Engineer, you'll work across multiple locations including Atlanta, Raleigh, Richmond, and Charlotte, collaborating with various teams including Security and business partners. The position offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401k, pension plan, and restricted stock units.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience, strong Linux expertise (particularly with RHEL 7/8/9), and proficiency in automation tools like Ansible. You'll also need experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware and Nutanix, plus strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a senior engineer looking to make an impact in a large financial institution while working with modern infrastructure technologies. The position offers both technical challenges and leadership opportunities, including mentoring less experienced team members and leading complex projects.
