Walmart Marketplace is seeking an experienced Principal Data Scientist to join their Seller Fulfilled Services (SFS) team. This role combines advanced machine learning expertise with practical e-commerce applications, focusing on delivery promise optimization and customer experience enhancement.

The position requires a leader who can drive the development and deployment of sophisticated machine learning models across Walmart's Marketplace platform. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of industry experience (or 7+ with a master's degree) in data science, mathematics, or statistics, with proven expertise in causal learning and anomaly detection within the e-commerce domain.

As part of the SFS team, you'll work on products that connect sellers worldwide to buyers, managing over 350M+ items. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams including program managers, product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to build end-to-end machine learning solutions that optimize the marketplace experience.

Key responsibilities include leading AI/ML projects from ideation to deployment, developing novel algorithms using frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch, and driving data-derived insights across various retail challenges. You'll also mentor junior data scientists and contribute to building a culture of innovation within Walmart's data science community.

The position offers competitive compensation ($143,000-$286,000 annually) plus performance bonuses and stock options.
