Description For Android Engineer, Onboard Experience

Wayve, founded in 2017, is at the forefront of Embodied AI technology for autonomous vehicles. We're seeking a talented Android Engineer to join our innovative team in London, working on the next generation of in-vehicle experiences.

As an Android Engineer at Wayve, you'll be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining state-of-the-art Android applications that communicate in real-time with our automotive AI systems. Your role will involve collaborating closely with the robotics platform team, implementing new features, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and security in our applications.

Key responsibilities include innovating and creating cutting-edge Android applications, staying ahead of safety and security implications, collaborating on API design, implementing features for continuous experimentation, overseeing application deployment, maintaining rigorous quality standards, and working with fleet operations to ensure real-world functionality.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Android ecosystem, strong skills in Linux-based environments, expertise in Kotlin, and the ability to contribute to API design. We're looking for someone with a strong commitment to testing and automation, willingness to engage with real users, and a keen eye for security considerations.

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (desirable)
