Description For Staff Quality Engineer

As the Staff Quality Engineer at Weedmaps, you will be responsible for working cross-functionally promoting quality principles throughout the organization. The role involves delivering quality releases in an agile environment, leading quality optimizations, and building a strong community of testing within Weedmaps Engineering. Key responsibilities include designing end-to-end test solutions, implementing multiple levels of coverage, optimizing delivery pipelines, integrating performance tests in CI/CD, and leading the implementation of best practices in quality assurance. You'll work on quality dashboards, synthetic monitoring solutions, and continuously improve QE standards and processes. This role requires a strong background in software development, agile methodologies, and test automation, with an emphasis on making a significant impact on delivering quality at scale.

The impact you'll make:

  • Design end-to-end test solutions in CI/CD for existing integrations
  • Implement multiple levels of coverage to minimize outage risks
  • Optimize delivery pipelines and integrate regression and performance tests
  • Lead implementation of best practices in quality assurance
  • Develop quality dashboards for KPIs, SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs
  • Promote and improve test automation effectiveness
  • Coach and train others, uplevel QE technical skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, information technology, or computer science
  • 10-15 years of experience as an SDET or similar quality automation role
  • Strong understanding of software development and Agile Quality Engineering
  • Experience with designing and coding tools, frameworks, and wide-reaching solutions
  • Proficiency in agile techniques, test automation tools, and CI/CD practices
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt and organize in a changing environment

Bonus skills:

  • Functional programming experience
  • Knowledge of React, React Native, Kotlin/Swift, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, & Node.js
  • Experience with API, system-level, and performance testing
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container testing
  • Experience with synthetic monitoring tools
