Has anyone taken Jimmy Koppel's Advanced Software Design course?

Hey team,

Sr SWE with 10 years experience here. Keep seeing ads for Jimmy Koppel's Mirdin course with crazy testimonials (FAANG hires, big salary bumps, etc.) but can't find any real discussion about it on Reddit or forums.

I want to get better at articulating design decisions instead of just having a "gut feeling" something's wrong with an architecture. The course looks expensive but has a refund policy.

Anyone actually taken it? is it worth it ? Open to other suggestions for advanced software design training too.

Thanks!

Oh my god, this thing is crazy expensive. There is absolutely no way raw content can be worth $1200. System design is also incredibly hard to tech with a standard resource as it varies a lot based on context (your company, tech stack, product space, etc). You can see me struggle to make something generic with my version of a system design course.

The course mentions that you get 1 on 1 time. I would figure out how many 1 on 1 meetings you get and with whom. That's the main thing you're paying money for I would guess. If you're talking with senior+ FAANG engineers, then I would value it at $250/hour, and you can do the math from there to see if you're getting your money's worth. The course itself is worth $500 max.
