How professional is hanging out with old team mates?

Hi all, I need an advice on quite a random thing. I recently changed teams at Amazon. Since I shared a close bond with my previous team members, I continue to hang out with them sometimes and my ex-manager is quite aware of it. (He was new, and has worked with the team for less than an year)

Is it fine if I continue engaging with old friends, or does it make me look bad from professional aspect?

Should be fine: I usually sit with folks in a completely different org (I just happened to have worked on some products the org owns and have never been a part of that org officially). There has yet to be any complaints that I need to sit with my team.

Totally fine! However, be careful about the extreme, where it feels like you're neglecting your current team since you spend all your time with your old one. The relationships on your new team are critical for your success in the future.

(I wouldn't be too concerned about what your ex-manager thinks, BTW)

This is definitely normal. It's good for your own mental health to continue your existing social bonds.

It's 100% fine as long as it doesn't take away from you building relationships with your new team. Since Amazon is forcing RTO pretty hard, I'm imagining that you're just hanging out with your old team for lunch every once in a while.

Back at Meta, I would hang out with my old teammates sometimes as well. One of them was Rahul! (I left Portal to join Instagram and he decided to stay on Portal)
