Completed hours of deep work, landed a promotion, or tried the Apple Vision Pro? Tell us!

Received a PIP, rejected for a job, or suffering from the "atmospheric river" in California? Tell us about that too!

    Wins:

    • Finally able to focus and make progress on the course I'm developing about Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)
    • Some of my YouTube shorts are continuing to do well. I'm not actually sure why, but they've gotten hundreds of thousands of views in the past week (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qBstaIZr6yQ)

    Fails:

    • I hate the rain (California doesn't handle it very well), and it looks like it will continue to be wet for the next few days.

    Wins:

    • Watched the "Engineering Branding" Taro case study and finally published a YouTube short of my own and got 2 likes!
    • Getting better about setting aside some but not too much time everyday 6 days a week for side projects and hobbies so that I make progress and enjoy them in the long run

    Fails:

    • Trying to align on a new project with director/executive level stakeholders at work is challenging, not sure if I'm doing the best I can here. One says yes, another says no. I try to provide context on what's been tried, what possible, and my vision for what the impact is but it is not easy getting decisions like this remotely

    Wins

    • Wrote code for the first time in 6 months. It was just adding some test coverage. It felt great because it's been really hard to find time to do stuff like this that isn't urgent or super important for the project, but really important for my own well being.
    • Sun's returning to Seattle! 🌞
    • Looking forward to hosting next week's office hour!

    Fails

    • Tried to give feedback to a report but it wasn't received well.
    • I eat too fast. Which leads me to eating a lot. And since I'm under a reasonable amount of stress on work days, this leads to a lot of stress eating.
