I interviewed at a quant firm this year but didn't make the cut at the final round. The recruiter encouraged me to stay in touch with them for future opportunities. During our final discussion (almost 6 months ago at this point) I mentioned that I already had multiple offers in hand alongside a final round at Meta. The recruiter mentioned that they previously worked at Meta as a tech recruiter.
Fast forward to today and I got an offer from Meta, though I'm probably going to decline it for a lesser known decacorn. I'm wondering if it's worth mentioning to this recruiter that I got an offer from Meta, and how I should go about communicating this.
Honestly, the recruiters are just saying that to be nice. You don't need to communicate it with them at all. I actually recommend against it unless you really, really, really resonated with the recruiter and felt like they were genuinely super kind.
Agree with Alex - I'm not sure exactly what you'd gain by sharing the Meta offer.
I think it just signals that I’m good enough to get past Meta’s hiring bar and they’d at least be more willing to interview me again in the future.
You can put your meta internship on your resume you apply with next year.
When you get a rejected by a date, you don't walk up to them the next day with your next date and tell them that you should get another chance because your current date is equally as good. Rejections happen: it's just a part of life.
What decacorn?
