Career Advice About Apple

Hi everyone, I was wondering if it is unethical or rude to not respond to some recruiter messages at all or to random people asking if you're available to start a business on LinkedIn? I have a lot of them and know what's it like to be ghosted by companies as an interviewee so wouldn't want to offer the same treatment, on the other hand it takes me a lot of time to craft even a single answer, what's your take on this ? To be honest some offers are also low-ball offers that it makes me not want to respond at all :)) but I wouldn't want to be rude to people.

I was a former startup founder and companies like FAANGMULA (Meta, Google, Apple in particular) have reached out to interview me for senior SWE positions, how should I chose any one company (these options or others), that I think might want me to recreate the type of IP that was in my startup paying me a salary instead of acquiring me (if I were to do my company again), which they can cheap out on? If my goal is to have my own company again someday, should I work somewhere else less related to my expertise (just need it to pay the bills for a few years before trying again)? Or do I go somewhere, think I can learn, won’t necessarily get promoted or get paid more and sacrifice my IP that these companies (or other smaller startups), could actually end up owning?

Hi all! I have an upcoming Apple interview round, for which I have been asked to interview in C language. I have been working in C at work, so I wouldn’t mind. But there are some questions which require DS which I am comfortable with in Java but not in C[Example: Hashsets] .

Did anyone have any similar experiences?

I'm trying to learn more about the different career trajectories in tech. I come from a data science background, and I'm interested in the software engineering path. It would be nice to understand what my life would look like if I were to make the switch.

I'm exploring other paths in tech, including SWE. For the software engineers out there, I would love to understand why you do what you do: What's the main thing that keeps you going?

I have been working hard on a project I feel I have done most / most of the development work.

I, however, have been pretty much shielded from the business-level details by my PM who directly interacts with the users of the product.

Later next week, we are having a meeting with upper management & a lot of the senior directors.

Now I've been told that the PM will be presenting, which is mostly my work, and that will solve these issues.

Although I feel I am hardly getting any recognition for my work, as the PM is put in the limelight. Should I express this to my manager in my upcoming 1 on 1, that I'm concerned I'm not being made visible, or is this normal?

My manager recently asked me to switch gears on the nature of my work. The core deliverables of our team, the bread-n-butter, are in domain, say X. I had been working in domain Y for the past year and a half, where my manager (& skip level) were invested and trying to expand the scope of our team.

However, a couple of people working on X recently left our team and so now my manager told me that we will decrease our efforts in Y, and will need me to work on X too. We won't completely be abandoning Y though, he said.

I have mixed emotions about this change. I am happy that I will now be involved in the core work of my team. I am also sad because I had just started to make an identity and started being recognised as the go-to-guy for domain Y. I feel the case for my promotion from mid-level to senior would also weaken with this change since I wouldn't have very solid contributions in any domain (i.e. no compound interest).

How should I make the most out of this situation?

I am a full stack developer in Apple but mostly focusing on the front end. I have recently started gaining interest in learning more about parallel or distributed Systems. I can take courses which will be reimbursed by my company as part of its career development program. So wondering what are some good courses offered by different schools where I can gain practical knowledge on it.
