The process began with an HR screen. I was told the first round was a technical screen to test problem-solving skills, and that there wouldn’t be any Software Engineer-level coding questions.
During the technical screen, I was given a LeetCode Hard problem. There was no communication or collaboration. The interviewer was proficient in another language, so they couldn’t understand my process or solution. They kept nitpicking on trivial details.
It seemed like they had a predetermined answer and were trying to see if I matched it.
I was disappointed overall. I wouldn't recommend this unless you're part of the WeChat team or are just looking for practice.
LC Hard.
Also, the prep material is a joke.
