The first round was easy, covering some C++ and algorithms. The second round was totally unexpected. A lot of Computer Science topics were asked. I am not from a CS background, so I had no idea.
Questions
They asked me how to compress files.
And the classical dictionary problem.

Food bar is good. Work-life balance is sort of good for most of the time.
Cons: Could be stressful while catching a deadline, yet the work is not that challenging.
Career path is kinda limited.

Smart people paid ridiculous salaries to slog through ancient systems

Pros: High pay, free food, beautiful building, great location, and smart people.
Cons: Ancient architecture, no coding standards, no commenting of code, no documentation. Poorly designed and documented, buggy, incomplete GUI framework which you are forced to use. Weird UI standards, little inter-group code sharing, poor common tools.

Good compensation, but difficult to advance in the company

Pros: The compensation at Bloomberg for entry-level qualified positions is relatively high.
It is a well-known company and a very recognizable brand name.
Cons: There is very little upside to working at Bloomberg.
The compensation system is nowhere near ideal, as your bonus for this year is paid out in the following year, to ensure that you stay at the company.
Mobility is extremely limited, and it seems that the company has been moving backwards ever since Bloomberg left the company to become mayor.
