Pros

Work-Life Balance, Talented Team, Interesting Projects, Benefits, PTO

Cons

Very political, high middle management turnover, bureaucratic, ineffective performance management (dependent on how well liked your manager is, not on your actual performance).

Advice to Management

The role and hiring process for middle management (M, SM, D, SD, and VP) needs to change. A lot of the middle management is aggressively trying to "demonstrate their value" and also play office politics, which leads to a lot of restrictive micromanagement of engineers. Why hire top engineering talent if you are not going to trust them and give them autonomy to work?

Also, there are way too many middle managers that are technically brilliant but awful people leaders. There needs to be more emphasis on leadership ability and EQ in the hiring process, over technical prowess from people leaders.
