Few companies get to live up to their mission. The background check industry is rife with issues and a screening mentality. What was refreshing about my time with the team was that they, and especially the founding team, continued to invest in the greater good. Over time, I saw Checkr invest in their mission and cultivate an environment that would think about their impact on society and the world.
Checkr saw a lot of growth and success early on. It's great in some ways and plays as a crutch in others. The upside for the company is tremendous still, but they'll have to learn new ways the hardy way to grow at this stage.
Don't give up. You are the soul of the company and, regardless of what others say, the future of the company and its impact on the world is in your court.
