Solutions Architect Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

Process

I applied through an employee referral in February. About three weeks later, I finally heard back from a recruiter to set up a screening call. The questions were basic, but the recruiter was one of the most robotic and unenthusiastic people I've ever spoken to in my career.

I got past that screen, and she told me they would get back to me about my candidacy. I followed up each week for a few weeks with no real movement. The recruiter seemed to have forgotten about me but did not reject me, stating they would get to it soon.

At the end of March, she asked if there were any deadlines to be aware of. I let her know that I had a few offers potentially coming in early April.

Eventually, I received a job offer from another company and started working there. The recruiter contacted me near the end of April to discuss the opportunity further. I provided ample times, figuring I would inform her on the phone that I had accepted another offer.

I didn't hear back for a whole week, and then I suddenly received an auto-rejection from their Greenhouse application. What a broken and inefficient interview process.

Also, their recruiters, if they are anything like mine, don't seem to care about candidates.

Questions

Why did you leave your prior job?

Why did you leave the job before that?

And the job before that?

(Honestly, they seemed more interested in why I left all of my jobs than talking about the actual opportunity).
