Dell is a hierarchical organization. Senior management does not trust engineers. They expect engineers to bow to senior managers.
Senior managers, who have knowledge about technology, are too focused on business ROI and do not invest in innovation. Dell is very bureaucratic. It takes ages to get a simple task done. Even simple mistakes are escalated. Feedback from managers is very critical. Performance is equated to behavior.
Remove bureaucracy. Be more innovative. Stop buying companies which are incompatible.
