I applied online. A couple of weeks later, a recruiter emailed me about an initial phone call to ask more about my background. The call was about 15 minutes, and its goal was to understand my background. After the initial call, I moved forward to the next stage, which was a technical code interview in CoderPad. I passed this interview and was asked to have another technical interview. Unfortunately, I missed my interview because I entered the time in PST in my calendar, but the interview time was in EST.

I wrote to my recruiter and apologized for my mistake. They gave me the chance to provide my availability one more time. I did, but a few minutes after I confirmed the second interview time, I received an email from another company for an onsite interview. It was on the same day, and the problem was that their policy was strict: I could either accept or miss the onsite.

I immediately wrote to my recruiter at Goldman Sachs, informed them about this conflict, and asked them to disregard my previous email, stating I would let them know about my availability soon. However, Goldman Sachs' recruiter wrote an email and said they had withdrawn my candidacy.

I know it was my mistake that caused this issue in the first place, but I wish they had been more understanding, especially since I informed them less than 20 minutes after I confirmed the second interview time. They seem very strict and inflexible, and I am happy I learned this early. I would not wish to work in a company with this culture.
