I went onsite with the Mountain View campus for a position in the Google Cloud division. A total of five interviewers participated.
It's unclear how they selected the interviewers; in the end, three interviewers asked distributed systems questions. One scheduled interviewer did not show up, so a replacement arrived with very little preparation. Another interviewer came from the hardware group, which was surprising. I am not a hardware person, and this interviewer didn't even delve into kernel-level questions.
They seemed to have quite different backgrounds from mine, making the interview process somewhat out of sync. It became an awkward experience.
