I applied online for a "Software Engineer" role. A Gusto recruiter reached out to me, and I sent them a link to the requisition for the position I applied for. We had a very generic conversation and scheduled a time for the technical coding portion, which was one hour with an engineer. The coding session was fine. I have added the problem below.

A day or so later, I received an email from the Gusto recruiter stating I would not be moving forward in the process for "Senior Software Engineer." I did not apply for that position, but the Gusto recruiter obviously lied about it. Recruiters may receive more compensation for filling higher-level interviews and positions.

I was really annoyed. From now on, whenever a recruiter sets up an interview, I will confirm the title of the position with the engineer during the interview before I start coding.

Given an amount of money and recipients who are owed money, distribute the money as evenly as possible.
