HR called and asked some basic questions about the skill set and the work done in previous projects. After that, the second round was a technical screening where the manager asked some basic data engineering questions. I did not get any email after that, so maybe I was rejected.
Questions
- Tell me about some interesting pipelines you have built.
- Considerations for building Spark Streaming pipelines.
- Difference between ELT and ETL.
- Airflow design.
- MapReduce in Scala or Python.
- Difference between SMB and broadcast join.
- Difference between row versus columnar data storage.

Pros: There are a lot of great people who are passionate about what they do. Fully remote.
Cons: Lots of unpopular changes lately, and a very bad look to the way those changes were rolled out. Leadership seems to change their mind and the goalposts quite often.
