Process

HR called and asked some basic questions about the skill set and the work done in previous projects. After that, the second round was a technical screening where the manager asked some basic data engineering questions. I did not get any email after that, so maybe I was rejected.

Questions

  1. Tell me about some interesting pipelines you have built.
  2. Considerations for building Spark Streaming pipelines.
  3. Difference between ELT and ETL.
  4. Airflow design.
  5. MapReduce in Scala or Python.
  6. Difference between SMB and broadcast join.
  7. Difference between row versus columnar data storage.
