Pros: - Brand recognition
- Work with bright and talented engineers
- Flexible work hours
Cons: Despite flexible hours, expect to work long hours, including nights and weekends.
Performance reviews are totally broken; expect miniscule bonuses and raises, if any.
Inept management, who are more people pushers than technically savvy.
Difficult to move around.

Pros: None come to mind. The benefits stink, considering the size of the company. Management lives in fear for their jobs and will not stand up for their employees at all.
Cons: IBM is only interested in their bottom line. They do not care about their employees very much.
They could not wait to offshore our jobs to a cheaper country.
Once you're slated for workforce reduction, you become a pariah, and no one in the other businesses will even look at your resume.

Pros: Of course, IBM is large, so things may be different depending on where you reside.
Plenty of interesting technology to work with. They are very flexible with work schedule and location. Smart people for peers.
Although the benefits are declining in value, they are still pretty good.
Cons: They still use a standard distribution method to rate employees. The manager typically provides a review, which is different than a rating, then you are rated. Theoretically, the rating is correlated to the review. However, each group is given a distribution of ratings that have to be applied to the employees. Most people get average. But every group needs to have an underperformer. You can have a review of "walks on water" and still get an average rating.
