Front End Engineer Interview Experience - Milan, Italy

Process

About a year ago, I was contacted by IBM CiC for an interview for the above-mentioned position. I went through the entire selection process:

  • HR interviews
  • A technical interview (one hour) conducted by the current CEO.

The outcome was positive and I received the feedback by phone a few days later.

Two months passed without any updates. I therefore decided to ask for explanations, given my strong interest in the position (which I never do).

The response I received was: "We'll let you know next week...". I received no further response; I was literally "ghosted" by the company. I then gave up.

About a year passed and I was contacted again for an identical position. I pointed out that my process had already been completed with a positive outcome and that I had never received a response. They noticed my old process and its more than positive outcome, but they still decided to make me go through the entire selection process again. I accepted and started.

I had an HR interview with a positive outcome. I had a technical interview (one hour) during which I answered all the questions correctly. The atmosphere of the interview, in my opinion, was positive and the interviewers seemed satisfied with my answers. At the end of the interview, I was told that they would let me know within a week.

Two months passed and I received no response. I therefore decided to send an email pointing out what I had been told in the various interviews, but I was "ghosted" by this email as well.

What can I say... stay away from this company because, as prestigious as it may be on paper, in reality it is something else entirely. Especially if this is how they treat candidates, I dare not imagine how they treat employees. All this, then, for (very probably) a starvation salary, as often happens in Italy today.
