Pros: They often have flexible hours and the ability to work remotely, a good starting salary, a pleasant work environment, and good first-line managers.
Cons: They have a bad rating system which determines raises, bonuses, and promotions. All the typical downsides to a large corporation, with a lot of tooling based on old systems.

Crap pay to take a lot of crap

Pros: - Relatively stable company and employment.
- Some competent people in the company you can learn from.
Cons: - Pay is below market.
- Projects are hectic, when they exist nowadays.
- Management tends to be insensitive and bully-like and not particularly clear about the goals you are supposed to be following.
- Bleeding talent like crazy.

Pros: I had very nice coworkers.
Cons: Most of the work is project-based, which can be viewed as a pro, meaning you can change projects in search of newer technologies.
Alas, IBM has 90% of their projects using technologies that are way behind in history books. Mind you, Cobol is a staple there.
