IBM is very flexible with work/life balance and provides abundant education and career-growth opportunities. IBM's total compensation is very competitive and always improving. IBM's technology portfolio is best of breed and strives to satisfy client needs. IBM's work environment is very inclusive.
IBM's virtual education portfolio should also include more traditional classroom and lab formats, enforcing hands-on, bootcamp-style learning. IBM's management mandates too much data entry with project tracking, which drives employee measurement metrics with no indication of the outcomes. IBM has become too political and has adopted a woke culture that seeks to raise awareness of specific groups while making others feel guilty when they are innocent. IBM tends to lead from behind and focuses too much on the finances versus the technologies, and listens more to Wall Street than Main Street. IBM fosters an environment that creates internal competition by over-communicating the successes and gains of employees who reach career milestones that they want to enforce, like certifications.
Put your money where your mouths are when it comes to IBM software products. Invest more in easy to install, migrate, and manage products that can sell themselves, versus having to develop elaborate marketing and sales gimmicks. Train management to be truly effective with constructive leadership that actually immerses themselves in their employees' work environments and participates in their challenges and successes. Management should be more transparent when communicating to employees when they ask employees to provide more data on their work efforts that will be used to drive measurements like their utilization % and productivity. IBM can be a true leader if we can actually work as "OneIBM" and remove the virtual silos between teams by engaging teams versus individuals on engagements.
