Pros

There is no restriction in time maintenance.

Cons
  1. I worked at IBM for almost 13 months. If I look back and see my 2018, there was nothing in my life other than IBM and my project. Guys, if you really want to live your life and if you have more than one offer along with IBM, please don't join here.

  2. Whatever the IBM policies may be, and however beneficial they may be, all the benefits like WFH, a flexible working environment, and work-life balance all depend on which manager you will be working under.

IBM managers have a bad attitude, and they are very rude. Most of the managers don't even know how to manage a team, but still, they become managers. It is all more like Hitler's rule here.

  1. HRs are not at all accessible. You just meet them on your first day's induction, then they are nowhere.

  2. There is no work-life balance here. If your manager or architect calls you around 1-2 AM, you just need to wake up and connect. If they want that fix to be done immediately, then you literally have to go through the code and fix that issue or code for a new implementation. By the time you finish your work, it will be 4-5 AM. Then your manager expects you to be in the office by 10:30 AM and attend scrum.

Advice to Management

Guys, please, please train your managers on soft skills.

Please don't promote them as managers just because they have some 10-12 years of experience.

First of all, why do you make non-technical people managers or scrum masters?

If some rule is applicable to an employee, it must be applicable to management also, like no WFH when a project is critical. Then why do managers take WFH anytime they wish?
