Happy and healthy during Covid
After 2+ years, here's my opinion:
- Excellent work-life balance.
- If you're lucky, excellent managers who care.
- Many opportunities to grow and move around.
- Emphasizes employee self-education and provides resources to do so.
- Abundance of intelligent, experienced co-workers.
- The company tries to be inclusive.
- The company tries to get employee input.
- Decent benefits.
- Active new hire network.
- Lots of socially engaging activities and communities (in-person pre-COVID; online during COVID).
Not every office location is ideal. A huge gap in hiring caused the current situation of rushing to pass knowledge from retiring employees to new hires.
Listen to employees regarding roadblocks with outdated technologies (Sametime, Lotus Notes, etc.).
