Great opportunity for new grads. They give you the tools to improve your skills with access to courses, funding for training, etc. However, it really falls on you to take the initiative. You will not grow unless you put yourself forward and make the effort. Anyone who is a recent grad should consider IBM as the first step in their career.
Confusing, arbitrary progression/compensation increase system. Management can be confusing as well. You have a "profile manager" who has influence over your career but may not even work directly with you. There are also no clear job title changes, etc. It can be chaotic at times.
IBM is also bad for allowing strong talent to leave due to the barriers to compensating them for their value. I've seen multiple extremely talented resources leave after 1-2 years to receive a 30% increase at their next opportunity. Often, these people will return to IBM later with an even bigger increase. It seems to be a focus on hiring new talent versus retaining current talent.
Invest more in your existing talent. Retaining employees by paying them more saves you more in the long run.
Good.
The hiring process was good, with a very strong HR team. The hiring team was informative and highly admired in the profession. My experience included a phone interview followed by an in-person interview on campus. Overall, it was a very positive ex
The interview was easy. Basic Core Java was asked, along with a HashMap iteration question. In Spring Boot, the questions were also very basic. Nothing was asked about multi-threading. There were two questions based on Event-Driven Architecture (ED
