Broader exposure to various technologies and businesses.
Lot of pressure and extremely tight deadlines.
No work/life balance.
No growth opportunities.
Compensation is not justified with the value one brings. It's more driven by manager than organization.
Eliminate micromanagement and personal agendas of some of the managers. Listen to pillars (engineers, business planners, advisers) who can make the company stronger. Compensate fairly. Provide work/life balance and remove glass ceilings with career growth.
Thorough, friendly, but slow. Two weeks passed between the first and second interviews, so I assumed they were not interested. However, there were then three more interviews. Not too many competency questions; mostly informal chats.
1. Online assessment with Easy/Medium LeetCode. 2. In-depth Python knowledge, OS, and Data Engineering theory (two people from the team grilled me about it). 3. Interpersonal skills: Explain a time where you showed leadership and how it turned out.
Coding interview first, through HackerRank, then recruiter and hiring manager rounds. The recruiter round was very subjective and based on the person, while with the hiring manager, I had to go into technical details and talk about system design.
