This was the third time I was being interviewed at Microsoft. Yes, if you are changing roles or moving to a new team, you go through the same process as a new hire.

There were a total of five rounds. The interview was a mix of behavioral/situational questions as well as technical questions.

Typical questions included:

  • How have you dealt with poor performers?
  • What's your leadership style?
  • Multiply two numbers without using multiplication or bitwise operators.
