Great internship. Friendly, open environment, real work, exciting growth. Had a great summer

Pros: 10gen is not too big. As an intern, we had lunch and question sessions with the founders and CEO. They gave us choices for our project and hooked us up with mentors. All of the projects were real work that is important to the company. Everyone is friendly; you can just go up and talk to them. They had intern events like movies, laser tagging, etc., every week.
Cons: Doesn't have the crazy perks like a free cafeteria, haircuts, or buses, etc., that you get at big companies like Facebook or Google.

Best Company I've Ever Worked For

Pros: I can't say enough good things about MongoDB. Everyone, regardless of role, is super smart and super talented.
Most managers are former individual contributors and highly technical.
We value diversity and have people from all walks of life and backgrounds. We build great products and make smart bets.
MongDB is a fantastic place to grow your career and make a difference in the world.
Cons: We don't always live up to our ideals, but when we don't, we admit it and adjust.
It is no longer a small, nimble startup. While we do our best to make quick decisions, our decisions impact more and more teams, requiring more sign-off to ensure that we are not breaking someone else's work.
This is a necessary evil as we grow our platform, and I still feel that we are striking a good balance between innovation and stagnation in red tape.
