Pros

For the most part, a great team. Some great technical expertise in certain teams. Access to lots of technical training (internal and external). Career growth is possible (although sometimes hindered, see minuses). Fair package. Flexibility.

Cons
  • Typically more managers than years in the company.
  • Some say the only thing that never changes is change (can be good or bad).
  • Career growth can be hindered if you're "useful" in your current position.
  • Management may stay in place if they are conformist.
  • Stress level in technical support was high, but management did not prioritize that issue.
  • HR was horrible for the most part (i.e., never representing the employee's interest, but only the employer's).
Advice to Management
  • Focus on your employees rather than number games.
  • Top-down doesn't always work, specifically in a technical environment, so try to listen to the very experienced engineers you have.
  • Take into account what people are leaving as comments during exit interviews.
