Pros: Stable company.
Decent benefits.
Some new technologies through acquisition.
Some training, depending on your manager/department.
Cons: - Lack of raises.
- Promotions do not come with a raise. In fact, I lost overtime pay with my promotion, so it was really a pay cut after all was said and done. I was very surprised!
- Long-term Oracle employees (15-30 years) are mostly mediocre at best. Oracle red tape sucks the passion out of people.
- Internal tools are terrible.
- There is a lot of politics.

Milking Old Product, Endless Porting

Pros: Oracle acquired my product many years ago. A couple years after that, the innovation stopped, and we are just milking the install base.
Benefits are good, and the work is not taxing. I spend my afternoons surfing and mountain biking.
Cons: Fusion comes knocking to all independent products. When that happens, the endless 2-year porting projects start. They are endless because the tech stack is dictated from the executive offices, and they change their minds about every 18 months.
