Initial invite for a phone screen (45-50 minutes).
Following which, they scheduled a virtual onsite interview (3 rounds, 1 hour each).
The overall process was smooth; interviewers were patient and did not hesitate to clarify or answer any questions.

The pay is OK. The culture is so stale and boring – like "death by a thousand needles" boring

Pros: + Remote work during COVID.
+ Pay is not bad in San Diego for software engineers (maybe at top companies).
Cons: - Odds are you're likely going to work with many people on your team (if in engineering) that are intelligent, or at least enough to do their job with minimal assistance needed. I have found many teams are comprised of conservative and boring people.
- Upper management tends to blame their many ineptitudes on the lower ranks instead of taking responsibility for their unrealistic timelines. This causes line managers to work their employees longer hours. Working 50-65 hours a week (sometimes more if on the embedded or testing side of the house) is not uncommon, even during COVID.

Pros: Lots of stock grants.
Good work-life balance, at least in my division.
Good health benefits.
Flexible PTO, "unlimited" based on the needs of your project.
It's pretty standard for people, at least that I work with, to take the last two weeks of the year off.
Cons: All the cons you get from any large corporation.
* Lower pay than some other large tech companies.
* Annual salary increase does not match inflation.
* Some divisions, from what I hear, have layoffs occasionally and do not have as good work-life balance; this is a very subjective experience.

Pros: You get to live in San Diego.
Cons: Most of what they tell you at the job interview is incorrect. It's a very political and clannish culture. You have to be from the same ethnic background of the director to advance in this department. People sabotage each other, and managers encourage the unethical behavior. The reasoning is to promote competition, which is total BS. There are a lot of incompetent, insulting, and rude managers. The work-life balance is terrible. Compensation is not good relative to industry standards. It's a very depressing atmosphere; avoid PMIC VI at all costs.
