Pros: Samsara is growing rapidly as a company, and there are plenty of opportunities in engineering to show your talent. Great Leadership: very focused, talented, and experienced people. Remote work for those who prefer this type of work (although the office is also available). Great compensation (in PL: b2b or employment + stock + bonuses). Great value proposition from the product perspective. Fantastic product team and many interesting product initiatives on the roadmaps. You can really have an impact that is measurable. It is important that you will have a lot of independence and ownership, which shows how much trust employees get from the Leadership at Samsara. If you join Samsara, you will have opportunities to visit the top-notch office in London for sure. Finally, the tech stack is very interesting, and Samsara is open to people willing to learn new things. Most of the roles are full-stack: AWS Backend in Go, Web + Mobile (React Native).

Cons: Mostly fully remote, so "office people" might struggle in Poland (at least at the moment). Samsara is not yet known in Poland, but is already a very strong brand in the US, Canada, Mexico, and is also gaining a lot of traction in the EU + UK. This is if you do not like on-call duties from time to time (only for more senior engineering roles). As most product and senior leadership is on the US West Coast, there are sometimes afternoon Zoom calls (usual for this kind of company setup).

Pros: Real impact on customers and drivers' lives. Professional and generally nice people across the company. Company growth, even during hard times (but at a cost). Strong sense of ownership. Samsara's five values. CEO.

Cons: A lot of attrition. Exceptionally good people are let go, and a lot of time, effort, and money are spent on backfilling and onboarding new hires. Inflation was over 10%, but the annual pay rise was way below 5%, so it's either "take it or leave". Feels like charity work. Waterfall planning and delivery with all the cons that come with that. Management hierarchy – more layers being added. A lot of overhead and admin work required that doesn't add value. Trust issue? Over-booked meetings. Not a distributed company. US meetings at late hours for people in EU. Samsara's 5 values are not upheld.

Pros: - Leadership is no-nonsense, transparent, and competent. - They take diversity and inclusion, as well as mental health and cultural issues, seriously without seeming fake. - People are generally very talented and passionate. - The engineering department is innovative and has great development practices, with an emphasis on writing, mature data engineering, and lots of cool hardware and firmware stuff in addition to frontend and backend development. - The outlook is strong. Business growth is pretty astounding and will likely continue.

Cons: - Occasional reorgs due to shifting priorities can be frustrating for affected teams. This is inevitable with the strategy of trying new things. - COVID layoffs were probably an overcorrection in retrospect, but that was hard to know.
