Process

Received a call from the manager and did a quick on-phone interview. He suggested that I apply for the position and asked if I would accept the offer if I received it. At the on-site interview, I met with 6 people, from another team's director to senior engineers. I met with the FA and reliability director on another day when I was at SanDisk for an interview for another position. The director did not ask a single question, which was quite odd. I did all the talking myself. It was strange.

Sandisk Work Experiences

Good Company but to much politics.

Senior Reliability Engineer • Former Employee

Pros: Fair salary. The work environment was OK. It all boils down to management. I didn't have a manager, while some people had great managers. Very good employee compensation package. Free breakfast that consists of oatmeal only, and huge, great parties.

Cons: Long hours. Travel up to 25 - 50 %. Like I said, management was not good. I worked for a small start-up, Pliant Technologies (SDD engineering), that was purchased by SanDisk. Just a different mentality, I guess.

Pros: It's a job and you get paid. If you are good at politics and not the most talented, you can get paid for a very long time.

Cons: It's incredibly political. Many managers, and there are some good ones, are ego-driven and narcissistic. They hold on to their jobs only because they know how to carefully craft lies to customers and upper management. It is a very destructive situation that has resulted in poor decisions which ultimately drove product quality low and customers away.

Pros: It's a job and you get paid. If you are good at politics and not the most talented, you can get paid for a very long time.

Cons: It's incredibly political. Many managers, and there are some good ones, are ego-driven and narcissistic.
