Pros: I am writing the points considering the SAP Labs Pune Database Management Team: 1. You will be working with mostly brilliant people. 2. Good old C/C++ programming! 3. Work in some teams is excellent, whereas it is not so good in others. 4. Benefits are extremely good! 5. You will get a rare chance in India to code in an enterprise database engine!

Cons: 1. Salary is so-so when compared with industry leaders. 2. Some people are lazy to the core. 3. The management is not far-sighted. 4. Innovation is limited.

Cons: The company overall could be less sales-oriented and more product-oriented. There's a common lack of skill set and technical expertise, even in the innovation areas. A lot of lateral transfers lead to positions that don't fit employees' skill sets. They also call SQL developers backend developers and surprisingly get away with it.
