Cons: Company is like an ocean. Even after years working, you cannot figure out different divisions and businesses.
Lack of synergies between different business units.
Very few opportunities to grow up at the same location.
Only way to move up is by relocating to a different location.

Pros: Changes in working time are usually easy to get, with flexible working hours. You can use overtime to get extra holidays.
Salary slowly increases over time, even without career steps. Fast career progression is not the rule, rather the exception, at least in Germany.
Cons: People who hope for a fast career may find the company too slow and assignments boring. There is a high level of bureaucracy and politics. If your German is poor, you may miss a lot of these things.
