A recruiter reached out over LinkedIn. I thought it was odd, as I am in a different role than the advertised position, which is in professional services, so I overlooked it.
Both the recruiter and hiring manager reached out over email directly a few weeks later, again about the same role. I was intrigued at that point.
I got in touch with the hiring manager to understand what the role entails. After two rounds of interviews, it turns out the position is indeed a vanilla, standard role in their professional services organization.
Why are you interviewing people who are themselves telling you they are not interested in such roles? Is this part of a hiring/screening quota?
Quite the time waste, and disappointing on Slack's part.
