Pros

You get to handle a network of fulfillment centers.

Cons
  1. Frugal company. They make you travel during a global pandemic and yet are miserly to compensate your needs for food.
  2. The management has no idea how to improve processes and uses you as their guinea pig to test success/failure.
  3. The decision-making is so centralized that you rarely feel valued. They only make you feel valued during the interview. Otherwise, you are just doing what they ask you to. Horrible way to grow engineers.
  4. They lowball like crazy. You are also a cost-saving project just like the projects that you handle. Work politics ends up affecting your performance and happiness.
  5. Churn, churn, churn. High employee turnover rate for the Engineering Team. They don't recognize you at all for your hard work.
Advice to Management

If you don't know your stuff, please quit!

Your conventional warehousing skills might have worked in the 90's. Open your eyes! It's 2022, and people younger than you are smarter.

Don't be frugal about compensating your employees. As it is, Home Depot salaries are below industry standards. No wonder you have high employee turnover.
